Hello Matthew a kindred spirit in Philly...nice! I need to step up my blogging a good bit. I play in a few bands around the city but none that are highly active (grad school + work = little time to rock). the ones I'm involved in are Mitch Fiction and the Shits and Gianmarco Cilli. I also sing for an (mostly pre-Warners) REM cover band called Twisted Kites and we're playing at Liberty Lands this Saturday, weather permitting. I like your Fall top 10 list. "Perverted by Language" is my fave. nice to hear from you.
First off, thanks for dropping by and especially for reading my Big Takeover blog. With The Fall, it's really hard to pick favorites, but PBL would definitely be in my top 5 or so. I also like Grotesque, Hex Enduction Hour, This Nation's Saving Grace and The Unutterable quite a lot.
Oh and pre-Warners R.E.M. (especially the 1st 3 albums) are definitely best, though I like all of their stuff up to Automatic for the People. Did you hear their most recent album? I thought it was a stunning return to form.
Well, if I had to introduce myself much like the B52s did in their "Song for a Future Generation", I'd say "Hi I'm Matt and I'm a Taurus. I like latkes, Patsy's Pizza and The Big Takeover."
